2020: It's been a challenging year for all of us. Yet we just need to keep on going... Thank you to all the brides and grooms and amazing suppliers I've been...
2020; The year of hope, heartbreak, sorrow, gratitude, blessings and progress.
It's been such a challenging year for me and my business, and for all my clients. Brides have arranged, rearranged, and rearranged weddings multiple times. Some have had to cancel, some postpone. Itβs been an emotional year.
Numerous times Iβve been asked about my situation, howβs my business doing? Iβm not going to lie, itβs been a tough year. Most of my work is rescheduled for next year. This year was mostly about fulfilling jobs for clients that stuck to having a wedding this year. It has also been about staying visible, getting involved with other creatives and wedding suppliers to make sure future brides know Iβm still passionate about my work and not moping and hiding at home hoping God just throws work my way (although I do quite like the idea of pjs and hibernating now and again!)/
Every year I say alhamdullilah (thanks to God), this is my best year yet, then I mope, then at the end of the following year I say the same thing. Whilst itβs been a very tough year I can honestly say itβs been a good one too- Iβve seen my parents twice this year, my kids are upset they havenβt been able to see their grandparents, so many challenges but Iβve learnt a lot, in my personal and professional life.
This year has been about growth, working and adapting in the weirdest of times, from being accomodating to clients needing to change wedding dates without fuss, to wearing masks 12 hours through summer day shoots, or restructuring the way my business works on a deeper level.
I know I sound like a broken record, but the truth is, Iβm always so thankful for all my clients, the mutual respect, admiration patience and happiness both brides, grooms and I get from working together.
This year, I won the Top 50 Wedding Photographers UK Award, I featured in 3 issues of Khush Magazine, Sky News, and a whole bunch of incredible and famous instagram accounts. Iβve worked with lots of fab suppliers on styled shoots, a phenomenal livestream catwalk (I still have to blog this one!), if I look back at this year, Iβve had my game onβ¦Time to up a level for 2021!!
Thank you again to all the brides and grooms and amazing suppliers I've been honoured to work with. May the challenging times pass and make us stronger and bolder. x
Special thanks to so many of you listed here, and so many more I haven't:
